Heat Shrink Chuck

Heat Shrink Chuck

The Heat Shrink Tool Holder offers some substantial benefits when compared to standard HSK-63F tool holders. A Heat Shrink chuck creates a more uniform, rigid connection between the CNC machine and the tool resulting in less vibration and a noticeably faster and smoother cut.

Here are some of the major benefits:

– One piece tool holder with no additional parts (nut/collets)

– Extremely tight tolerance 0.003mm & balancing properties

– High clamping force (~10,000 lbs) and rigidity

– improved tolerance equates to improved finish quality and longer tool life

– Slim design, ideal for 5-axis machines and tight routing conditions

Wondering how shrink fit tool holders work? The receiving end of the tool holder is heated with an electric heating induction machine.

This causes the steel body  to expand, allowing for the insertion of the tool shank. Once the tool shank has been inserted the heating element is turned off allowing the steel to cool and “shrink” around the shank of the tool. To remove the tool, just repeat the process.

Because of the need for an induction heating element to change tools, many companies will find this system not ideal for using solid carbide tools. However, we offer this service for FREE when you purchase a Heat Shrink tool holder with any of our standard or custom insert tools.

This system is ideal for longer life tools like PCD and insert tools due to the fact you do not have to remove the tool from the tool holder to change out the knives.  With PCD tooling, if you utilize our sharpening service you can send the tool in with tool holder intact, we will take care of the rest.

Insert Glue Joint Cutter for CNC Routers

Rapido

Rapido Glue Joint Cutter

GDP GUHDO has a standard insert router bits for Glue Joint applications as part of our Customize-It Program. If your shop uses glue joints with solid wood production, this may be an ideal solution to save both time and money while also reducing your solid wood material waste.

Our Customize-It Program provides standard profile insert router bits that are specifically designed for producing tight, architectural glue joints in soft and hard woods. Depending on the material, material thickness and application, we offer five standard profiles to suite your needs off the shelf. Each profile offers typical glue joint profiles with different pitch and finger lengths. Nonadjustable tool options for material thickness range from ¾” up to 1-1/2”. For thicker material, an adjustable tool option for material thickness of 2” up to 3-1/4” is also available.

Standard replaceable profile inserts assures the integrity and repeatability of these critically important joints. These tools are ideal for any size facility including manufacturers of doors, windows, cabinets or millwork facilities. For additional information, contact GDP GUHDO.

20mm Alternate Shear Insert Router Bit – Solid Carbide Replacement!

We are excited to introduce our new 20MM Alternate Shear Insert Router Bit (Part No. 22006). This 2-flute, 20 mm (0.787) diameter router bit is available in a 30 mm (1.180”) cutting length and an alternating shear cutting action. Though not recommended for machining double sided materials, this insert router bit is ideal for perimeter & grooving applications of raw composite (MDF & Particle Board) materials, solid woods and difficult to machine products such as Phenolic and especially solid surface (Avonite, Corian, Wilsonart, Formica & Swanstone).

3/4″ Alternate Shear Insert Tool – PN 22006

The face-mounted inserts enable a large gullet area which effectively and efficiently evacuates the material chips and aids in the heat dissipation. This is particularly important when machining heat setting materials such as Phenolic and Solid Surface materials. Standard double sided inserts are utilized and depending on the material being machined,  are available in two different carbide grades.  Reduce your tooling inventory and tooling cost substantially while improving efficiencies with a tool that offers a constant cutting diameter, economical inserts, rigid tool body construction and excellent finish results!

When it comes to machining thicker materials and when a larger diameter is acceptable, the series No. 22006 alternate shear insert router bit is an ideal alternative to a 3/4″ solid carbide compression bit.
